The authors intend to show that Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory gives us instruments for methodological specifications that broaden the horizon towards more comprehensive research programmes. Previous approaches do not seem to find ways to examine both structures and agencies at the same time. Russia’s development is explained either as an inevitable structural process or only as a result of the intentions of the actors. The chapter demonstrates that it is essential to be able to study modernization both as a representation and as a broader analytical category referring to basic structural challenges.Ключевые слова: социологическая теория структурация модернизация россия sociological theory structuration modernization russia Оглавлениескрыть оглавлениепоказать оглавлениеContents List of figures xv List of tables xvi List of contributors xvii Foreword by Tarja Halonen xxi Preface: Scientific method, and interdisciplinary approaches xxiii BRENDAN HUMPHREYS Acknowledgements xxv 1 Russian modernization: a new paradigm 1 MARKKU KIVINEN AND MIKHAIL MASLOVSKIY 2 Modernization of the Russian economy: fossil fuels, diversification, and the shackles of international political economy 30 PAMI AALTO AND ANNA LOWRY 3 Authoritarian modernization in post- Soviet Russia: structures, agencies, and choices 71 VLADIMIR GEL’MAN ET AL. 4 Modernization of the Russian social policy: social crisis, interventions, and withdrawals 106 MARKKU KIVINEN ET AL. 5 Post- Soviet Russian culture: anomy, desecularization and the conservative turn 174 MARKKU KIVINEN ET AL. 6 Modernization of Russia’s foreign and security policy 257 UOMAS FORSBERG ET AL. 7 Interdisciplinary synthesis: antinomies of Russian modernization 284 MARKKU KIVINEN AND BRENDAN HUMPHREYS Bibliography295 Index342Рубрики: История и теория социологииВозможно, вам будут интересны другие публикации:Масловская Е.
